Daruma Dolls drawing
A symbol of perseverance, goal setting, and good fortune. The Daruma doll, made in the likeness of Bodhidharma, is a bottom weighted doll that represents an old saying. “Fall down seven times, get up eight.” Eventually worn as tattoos by certain criminals, gangs, and peddlers. The Daruma is often made with the eyes unfinished, so that you can paint one eye, with intent and a goal in mind. Once that goal is fulfilled, you return to paint the second eye and complete the doll.
